Pascal Gwosdek received a bachelor and a master degree in computer science from Saarland University in 2006 and 2008, respectively. He joined the Mathematical Image Analysis Group as a Ph.D. student in May 2008. His scientific interests include high performance algorithms and hardware-focussed programming in visual computing. Pascal Gwosdek received the Günter Hotz Medal for the best master's thesis in computer science at Saarland University. In his spare time he heads the Jugend-forscht-Club Saar, an organisation that promotes scientific activities of high school students.
