SSVM 2025 Best Student Paper Award:
At the Tenth International Conference on Scale Space and Variational
Methods (SSVM 2025, Totnes, UK, May 28, 2025), the paper
"Diffusion-shock Filtering
on the Space of Positions and Orientations"
has received a best student paper award.
It was co-authored by our Ph.D. student Kristina Schaefer.

Ph.D. Defence:
On December 9, 2024, Rahul Mohideen Kaja Mohideen has defended his
Ph.D. thesis on
"Efficient Methods for Inpainting-based Image Compression".
Prof. Irena Galic (Osijek University) was external committee
member.

Computer Science Teaching Award:
On October 9, 2024, a Busy Beaver Teaching Award of the computer
science students has been given to Pascal Peter for his class on
"Mathematik für Informatiker II".

Highly Ranked Scholar:
On May 10, 2024, Joachim Weickert has been awarded the distinction of a
Highly Ranked Scholar by ScholarGPS for his lifetime contributions
in optical flow computation (i.e. motion analysis in image sequences).

Computer Science Teaching Award:
On April 15, 2024, a Busy Beaver Teaching Award of the computer
science students has been given to Pascal Peter for his class on
"Differential Equations in Image Proceesing and Computer Vision".

SIAM IS 2024 Organising Committee:
Joachim Weickert is member of the organising committee of the
2024 SIAM Conference on Imaging Science
(Atlanta, USA, May 28-31, 2024). It is the largest conference
on mathematical methods for image acquistion and image analysis.

Research Training Group:
Joachim Weickert is one of the Principal Investigators of the
DFG Research Training Group
"Neuroexplicit Models of Language, Vision, and Action" that
has been accepted in May 2023.
