A novel nonlinear anisotropic diffusion filter for image reconstruction
is presented and its properties are analyzed. It is demonstrated that
this filter is useful as a preprocessing tool in two different fields of
computer aided quality control: the detection of defects in wood surfaces
and quality control of fleece.
