Nonlinear diffusion

My PhD research at CMP concentrated on nonlinear diffusion applied to image filtering, with special accent on monotonicity of the data. I submitted the dissertation in June 2001, the following topics form the main contributions:
extension of nonlinear diffusion filters for piecewise linear or piecewise monotone data: demo, anisotropic filtering example
method to automatically select the optimal stopping time for iterative image filtering: demo
splitting method needed for efficient numerical approximation of anisotropic NL diffusion

You can also see some more diffusion filtering examples or download the texts from the publications page.
